Exercise or working out is important for all of us, right from when you are a child, irrespective of age and sex. But, it is very important for the teenagers to work out at least for 30-40 minutes daily. Let us find out the reasons.
Healthy Weight, Good Body, Increased Confidence:
Exercise uses oxygen from the stored fat of the body. Thus, it helps in weight loss. Weight control is very important for the teenagers because they need to keep their body lean and healthy. This automatically contributes to good looks which every teenager needs for themselves. This also builds confidence in themselves, and improves the self-esteem.
Stronger Muscles and Bones:
Exercising helps in building strong arm, stomach, and leg muscles. Muscle is a metabolically active tissue, which uses more calories than fat when your body is at rest, and thus helps in weight control. Strengthening exercises like walking, jogging, running, and dancing boost bone mass. This is very important for the teenagers, mostly for girls, who can be victims of osteoporosis in their future. It is necessary for them to protect themselves much earlier right from the teenage.
Obese people tend to be lazy and have a risk of dangerous diseases like diabetes, thyroid, high blood pressures, cardiovascular diseases, etc., which are becoming so prevalent among the teens. So it is important for them to work out daily and control their weight.
Every teenager wants to have a good skin. Exercise boosts circulation, which thus helps in delivering the nutrients to every part of the body, making the skin glow. Exercise also helps to detoxify the body by removing any toxins present in the body, thus making the skin look smoother and younger. Exercise helps to increase the connective tissue called collagen in your body that plumps the skin. Also, exercise helps in lightening the skin because of increased blood flow.
Reduced Stress and Improved Mood:
Teenagers stay stressed due to studies, tuition, competition, etc. They need to be peaceful and happy – exercise helps them achieve that psychological fitness. Exercise releases the chemical components called endorphins in the brain, which improves the mood and make you feel happy. It also helps to get better sleep and increase your concentration. Exercise also activates the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain, which helps in keeping your mood calm.
There are more than hundred reasons to exercise; these are very few of them highlighting the needs of the teenagers to work out – so do not wait and get set go!
